St. Vincent’s Medical Center King Street Parking Garage

  • Constructed for St. Vincent's Hospital, this seven-level, 766-space, precast parking structure features a structural steel elevated walkway connector at the second-floor level of the hospital.
  • Value engineering suggestions that resulted in cost savings as well as improvements to the overall aesthetic appearance of the structure costs included:
    • The use of a bolted connection rather than a welded connection for attachment of the precast members.
    • A system utilizing an eyebolt with barrier strands threaded through each eyelet and requiring no painting or welding was used in lieu of the standard barrier system and saved on both construction and future maintenance costs.
  • Recipient of the Significant Concrete Structure Award presented by The American Concrete Institute.
