Atlanta, Ga. (December 27, 2021) – Joe Appleton (above left), Senior Vice President, General Manager, Atlanta Commercial division, is retiring from Batson-Cook Construction after 45 years in the construction industry. Pat Ray (above right), currently Project Executive in the Atlanta Commercial division, will succeed Appleton as Senior Vice President and General Manager on January 1, 2022.
Since 2005, Joe Appleton has expanded and grown Batson-Cook’s commercial market through strategic planning, business development, and construction operations oversight. He began with the company as a Project Executive and was promoted to Senior Vice President of the West Point division in 2009. In 2016, he took on his current responsibilities. He will remain at the company in an advisory role until the end of February.
Pat Ray joined Batson-Cook Construction in 2015 as a Project Executive in the Atlanta Commercial division, concentrating his efforts on projects in the private sector. He received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi and has more than 26 years of experience in the industry. With this promotion, Pat will continue to expand the Atlanta Commercial division and client relations to secure a successful future for the division, just as his predecessor has done.
