Jacksonville, FL (September 17, 2019) – Batson-Cook Construction has been awarded two Eagle Excellence in Construction Awards by the Florida First Coast Chapter ABC, Inc. for their build efforts in the Normandy Park Freestanding Emergency Room in Jacksonville, Fla. and the AdventHealth Care Center Celebration in Celebration, Fla., the later winning Project of the Year.

The Excellence in Construction Awards recognize contractors that lead in innovation and quality while considering the project’s complexity, attractiveness, challenges, schedule, quality, innovation, safety, and cost.

“ABC Florida First Coast challenges us to continually innovate on job sites and deliver projects that contribute to the betterment of the community,” said Even Spradlin, senior vice president and general manager for Batson-Cook Jacksonville. “We are extremely honored to be receiving these awards and thank our clients for giving us the ability to collaborate on these projects.”

The Normandy Park Freestanding Emergency Room is a one-story facility with more than 10,000 square feet of space offering 24-hour support in an underserved community. The facility boasts a radiology suite with x-ray and CT machines, in addition to a trauma/resuscitation room. With few primary care facilities in the area, patients will receive faster care for time sensitive conditions. This project won a first place Eagle Award in the category of Healthcare - less than $10 million.

AdventHealth’s Care Center Celebration is a two-story skilled nurse facility with more than 85,000-square-feet of rehabilitation space. This resort-like facility, with maximized views of Walt Disney World’s nightly fireworks display, can support 120 residents at a time and is equipped with a gym, a hydrotherapy pool, an occupational therapy suite, and services such as intravenous therapy, pain management, and speech therapy. This project won a first place Eagle Award in the category of Healthcare - $10 to $25 million, in addition to Project of the Year.
