Batson-Cook Breaks Ground for Florida Hospital FSED

ORLANDO, FL (September 12, 2018) – Batson-Cook Company broke ground today for construction of a free-standing emergency department on Lake Pickett Road in East Orlando that will be owned and operated by Florida Hospital.

The 24-bed emergency department will provide comprehensive emergency medical services, including diagnostic imaging, a full-service laboratory, and pharmacy services, for both adult and pediatric patients.  The one-story building will total 18,000 square feet and there will be parking for 76 vehicles. Construction costs total $10.2 million.

“The Batson-Cook team is always honored to build projects which enhance healthcare services for residents of the area,” said Duane Alexander, senior project manager for Batson-Cook. “We are scheduled to complete the project in the summer of 2019.”

The building, featuring Florida Hospital’s signature spire rising above the entrance, will be concrete tilt-wall construction with metal panels. The site is located at the corner of Colonial Avenue and Lake Pickett Road.

Architect for the project is Hunton Brady of Orlando.
