Batson-Cook has completed numerous projects for Powertel including
two projects at the Concourse I office campus. The first is a 16,000-square-foot
interior build-out consisting of a 5,000-square-foot computer room.
This room houses Powertel's highly sensitive equipment. It also
contains office areas, including three conference rooms, enclosed
offices, and open office space. The computer room features access
flooring, an FM200 fire protection system, two floor-mounted Liebert
units, and a Liebert power distribution unit to reduce electrical
surges and glitches.
Approximately 38,000-square-feet of second-generation space, renovated
by Batson-Cook, now serves as Powertel's customer service offices.
Batson-Cook also completed two communications centers for Powertel,
the latest in a long line of successful projects. Switch #1, located
at the INFORUM in Atlanta, involved an interior build-out of 8,500
square feet of second-generation space. Switch #2, located at Concourse
IV in Atlanta, involved 5,900 square feet of second generation space.
Other switch sites developed by Batson-Cook are located in Jacksonville,
FL, Louisville, KY, Norcross, GA and Savannah, GA.
