National Infantry Museum
Columbus, GA
$46,854,000
This 170,000-square-foot museum, which will sit adjacent to Fort Benning, the home of the United States Army Infantry, will provide a venue to tell the story of the Infantry warrior.
The 9,000 square-foot marble grand rotunda will serve as both museum and reception hall and will be accented by a glass-enclosed Hall of Valor.
Six portals will be constructed off of the main gallery to display distinct eras in the infantry history. These galleries will range in size from 2,763 square feet to 5,602 square feet.
Construction will also include the area’s first 3-D IMAX theater and several interactive displays engrossing exhibits and simulator activities.
In addition to the museum’s structure, a ceremony parade ground and parking spaces for 600 cars and 50 buses are among the specs for this project. |
