Batson-Cook's preconstruction services department became involved
in the early stages of the planning to help the church identify
cost-saving solutions resulting in maximized use of land and funds.
The preconstruction team successfully recognized elements of the
project that could be revised without compromising the intended
use of the finished project. Alternative materials were proposed
that would provide similar benefits at lower prices.
The project components include a worship activity center, fellowship
hall addition, education addition and covered passenger drop-off
equaling a total of 120,000 square feet. The activity center, which
is the largest component of the project, provides multiple uses
for ministries and families, including game and aerobics rooms and
a walking/jogging track. The gym area, which is used for recreation,
large rallies and contemporary worship, has a full stage and two
large AV screens, making the center an ideal venue for concerts
and drama ministry.
