Batson-Cook’s Frinzi Receives Kennesaw State Distinguished Alumni Award

November 03, 2017

ATLANTA, GA – Batson-Cook is pleased to announce that Carl J. Frinzi, Sr., vice president of the company’s Multi-Family Wood Frame Division, was recently honored with a "2017 Distinguished Alumni Award" by Kennesaw State University.  The award, was presented at the 26th Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner held as part of KSU’s 2017 Homecoming Week festivities.

Frinzi earned his bachelor of science in civil engineering technology in 1983 from Southern Technical College, which became Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) before its consolidation with Kennesaw State University (KSU). He joined the KSU Foundation as a trustee earlier this year after being part of the SPSU Foundation since 2008. He has a long history of giving to Southern Poly and now Kennesaw State, and has served on the SPSU/KSU Construction Advisory Board since 2011. He also arranges field trips to his projects for KSU students, serves as a guest lecturer in the classroom, and provides internships and job opportunities.

Perhaps Frinzi’s most notable contribution to KSU, however, is his establishment of the Carl Joseph Frinzi, Sr., Endowed Scholarship for construction management students.

“Many years after graduating, I realized that the university had a tremendous impact on my entire family,” Frinzi said. “The scholarship is a way that I can help hard-working students meet their goals, earn their degrees, and allow them to have the same career opportunities that I had.”
“I am deeply honored to have received this prestigious award,” Frinzi said. “To be among the group of alumni that were nominated for this award is an honor.”

Frinzi joined Batson-Cook in 2016 to establish and expand the company’s Multi-Family Wood Frame Division. Over the course of his 35-year career in construction, he has focused on the multi-family housing sector nationwide. He led a $1.2-billion program to build 6,000 houses on military bases, and provided executive or construction management for the building of more than 26,000 multi-family units.
