PORT ORANGE, FL (Dec. 5, 2017) – Batson-Cook Construction recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Benton House Port Orange, the tenth Benton House assisted living and memory care facility the company has built in as many years.
Benton House Port Orange, located at 812 Airport Road, will have a total of 59 units and 80 beds – 45 assisted living units with a total of 56 beds, and 14 memory care units with a total of 24 beds. Amenities in the 44,082-square-foot, wood-frame building include a full-service kitchen, hair salon, media room, staff support areas, a home activities kitchen, and courtyards.
Construction costs will total $8.3 million. Completion is scheduled for October 2018.
Port Orange SLP, LLC, of Alpharetta, Georgia, is the owner of the project, and Lamas Architects of Atlanta is the architect. Batson-Cook has delivered Benton House facilities in Alpharetta, Augusta, Brunswick, Douglasville, Johns Creek, and Woodstock, Georgia; Bluffton, South Carolina; and Clermont, Florida.
Scheduled for completion in January 2018 is Benton House Aiken, South Carolina, the largest of the 10 at 57,000 square feet. The earlier Benton House facilities averaged 42,000 square feet, but Batson-Cook returned to the Alpharetta, Augusta and Bluffton campuses to expand the number of beds in each.
In 2018, construction is scheduled to commence on Benton Houses in St. Johns, Florida, and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
