Batson-Cook Finalizes Northside Hospital Forsyth Surgery And Patient Tower Vertical Expansion

Earns subsequent linear accelerator project

June 17, 2010  -  Atlanta, GA  -  Batson-Cook has marked its eighth project at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, Georgia by completing a three-level, 55,537 square-foot vertical expansion to the surgery and patient tower.  The firm constructed this $18.5 million addition while the hospital remained fully operational.

Project Manager Hal Brodnax of Batson-Cook stated that “Batson-Cook’s relationship with Northside Hospital Forsyth is as solid as it is productive.  Through our partnership, we have built much needed hospital space for the Northside Hospital System for over forty years.”

This most recent vertical expansion added 52 patient rooms, an operating room, five nurse’s stations and a rehabilitation facility for post-orthopedic surgery patients to the facility.  Batson-Cook also constructed an addition to the central energy plant as well as an infusion build-out.

As a result of its continued commitment to excellence, Batson-Cook was awarded a new project, the $1.6 million linear accelerator vault.  In addition to this cancer treatment room, the firm will build a CT scan room.  Approximately 5,500 square feet of the project will be a renovation while the other 4,500 square feet will consist of new construction.
