ORLANDO, FL (October 8, 2018) – Batson-Cook Company is pleased to announce that construction has commenced for the Pegasus Hotel at UCF, the first on-campus hotel for the University of Central Florida (UCF).

The full-service boutique-style hotel, which will carry the Tribute by Marriott flag, will be situated at UCF’s main entrance on North Alafaya Trail. It will be a five-story, 122,000 square-foot facility with 179 rooms featuring more than 10,000 square feet of conference and event space, a destination restaurant, and an active lobby bar.  Additionally, there will be more than 6,000 square feet of outdoor event space on the lawn adjacent to the restaurant and pool, creating a unique venue for seasonal weddings and special events.

“We are delighted to be building such a significant project at the University of Central Florida,” said Duane Alexander, senior project manager for Batson-Cook. “This destination hotel will enhance the campus experience for alumni and other visitors to UCF while also serving the growing East Orlando communities. We look forward to its completion and the arrival of its first guests.”

Construction costs for the project will total $33.6 million. It is scheduled to open in the spring of 2020.

The project is a joint venture between Development Ventures Group (DEVEN), Demetree Global, and Pinnacle Hotel Management. Baker Barrios of Orlando is the project architect.
