Mr. Moody directs and manages all aspects of the firm's day-to-day
operations. He joined Batson-Cook in 1963, shortly after his graduation
from Southern Polytechnic State University with a degree in Building
Construction/Architectural Engineering. He began his career with
Batson-Cook as a field engineer and advanced through the ranks as
an office engineer, superintendent, project manager and general
manager. Mr. Moody was elected to the Board of Directors and became
executive vice president for Construction in 1986. He was elected
president and chief operating officer in 1995.
Mr. Moody currently serves on the Board of Directors and is a
past president of the Associated General Contractors (AGC), Georgia
Branch. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the AGC
of America. He is a past member of the Board of Trustees of the
Southern Polytechnic State University Foundation, the Board of Directors
for the Georgia Baptist Health Care Foundation and the Board of
Trustees for the Georgia Baptist Health Care System. Mr. Moody currently
serves on the Board of Visitors for Georgia Baptist College of Nursing
of Mercer University and the board of trustees of the Georgia Baptist
Healthcare Ministry Foundation. He has served on the Board of Directors
of the Construction Industry Cooperative Alliance and is a Paul
Harris Fellow with the West Point Rotary Club where he has served
as president and director. He is also a former director of the American
Heart Association Board.
Mr. Moody was the 1998 recipient of the Golden Hammer Award given
by the American Society of Professional Estimators - Atlanta Chapter.
In 2007, he received the S.I.R. Award from the Georgia Branch AGC.
Currently, he is an active deacon at First Baptist Church on the
Square in LaGrange, GA.
