Mr. Barksdale joined Batson-Cook Company in 1976. During his 33- year career with the company, he has worked both in the office and in the field as a project engineer, superintendent, project manager and senior project manager on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. He leads the Jacksonville office and is responsible for the strategic planning, business development, and all construction operations essential to the growth of the office and the company.

Mr. Barksdale holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Science from Auburn University. He is a board member and past president of the Associated General Contractors of Greater Florida, Inc. He serves as a trustee for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, is on the Board of Directors of Daniel, and is a member of the West Jacksonville Rotary Club.
