Senior Vice President of Business Development
Scott Thompson built a relationship with Batson-Cook long before he became a part of the organization. Now, as Senior Vice President of Business Development for the company, he is responsible for the development and execution of the company's overall sales plan. He works closely with the development team in each of our four offices to identify and set sales goals, provide direction and planning for sales, and monitor key performance indicators.
In addition, he serves as the primary liaison between Batson-Cook Construction and our sister company, Batson-Cook Development Company.
Prior to joining Batson-Cook, Mr. Thompson held an executive-level position with a leading construction services provider. Among the strengths he honed during those years are the ability to leverage an expansive network of contacts, assess clients’ needs, and assist them in reaching their goals. Whether working to secure project financing, bring prospective development partners together, or identify the best design firm for a project, Mr. Thompson is resolute in facilitating options and solutions for our clients.
The integrity with which Batson-Cook operates, along with its desire to forge genuine, life-long relationships with owners, are the strengths Mr. Thompson emphasizes when introducing someone to Batson-Cook. These traits, he believes, generate the passion, skill and dedication that Batson-Cook personnel bring to every project. Being involved with a project from inception to completion and sharing an owner’s pride at the grand opening of a new facility are the rewards of construction that he appreciates most.
Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Georgia and an Associate of Science in Horticulture from Reinhardt College, where he serves as an Ambassador. He sits on the Board of Advisors for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and is a board member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce. He also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
Born in Columbia, SC, and raised in Atlanta, Mr. Thompson is an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoys hunting and fly-fishing.
